Savvy shoppers know when it’s the best time to shop for oranges, avocados and apples. But what about homes for sale? When do most houses go on the market in St. Louis?
What months seem to feature the largest supply of homes to look at? Is this the best time to shop or are prices inflated because competition for homes is increasing?

Will History Repeat Itself in 2018?

Real estate prognosticators and economists seem to be on the same page about 2018.  It looks like we’ll face the same challenge in 2018 that we did in 2017 … lack of inventory.

The peak months for new listings were in the Spring reaching a high in June and a low in December.  This tends to be a repetitive cycle due to the types of buyers and their particular needs.
Families with school age children are the largest group of buyers during the Spring and Summer. Their goal is to find a home and get the kids settled into a new school during the summer in preparation for the coming school year.
