Lake St. Louis Ranks #41 in Money Magazine’s Best Places to Live List
Money Magazine ranks the top 100 Places to Live each year. They focus on qualities American families value most: Highly rated schools, safe streets, economic strength, lots of activities, and job opportunities. Three other communities made the list (see who they were on the next page) but Lake Saint Louis beat them all by a wide margin. Let’s take a closer look at the community, the real estate market and the amenities attracting buyers to this community.
Lake St Louis was originally conceived as a private resort community in the 1960’s. It features an array of golf courses, pools, tennis courts, available to the Community Association members for $450 per family per year. The lake itself encompasses about 550 acres with skiing, sailing, windsurfing and family fun.
The National Equestrian Center is located in Lake St. Louis and hosts horse shows at different times of the year. The facility has bleachers, box seating, overnight horse boarding, paddock rentals, and a convention area that has catering available for special events.
The Lake St. Louis Real Estate Market
As you can see by the chart on the right, Lake St. Louis took a dip in median pricing at the beginning of the year. However, in the spring it came roaring back and continues to make advances in median pricing. The current median price for a home is $254,541.
